Comprehensive Spending Review - Department for Transport announcement
Department for Transport Announcement
Wednesday, October 27, 2010
The Department of Transport (DfT) has announced the proposed
government funding programme for the various transport schemes.
Croxley Rail Link is included within the 'pre-qualification group'
of projects where the DfT will be undertaking further analysis.
According to the DfT, these projects either need "further
appraisal" or they have "not yet been fully evaluated." They will
determine which of these schemes can enter the development group by
January 2011.
This is positive news and Hertfordshire County Council (HCC)
will continue the ongoing dialogue with the DfT to ascertain if
"further appraisal" is needed and how they can expedite the
process.
HCC, London Underground and Network Rail remain committed to the
scheme's development and will continue to review and challenge the
overall scheme cost to ensure best value. The project will maintain
communication with stakeholders developing the proposals for the
scheme to meet the needs of the local community.
This announcement will allow the project to maintain the planned
programme which anticipates the submission of a Transport and Works
Act Order towards the latter half of 2011.
